Auckland, New Zealand

I have been to Auckland, New Zealand. It was one of the most exciting trip of my life. I went for a study abroad trip (the same trip to Australia, another blog I have mentioned below). To get to New Zealand it was about a 12-14 hour plane ride. (A very long plane ride might I add.) But the plane that we flew with was Delta and it had the mini tv's that are right in front of you, so I got to sleep and watch movies for a long time.

With almost 40 people on our study abroad trip, we became friends instantly on the plane, I mean we didn't have anything else to do right? We all sat in a clump in the corner section of the plane and we all had a blast. We played games, read magazines, took pictures, and just got to know everyone.

Upon reaching Auckland, New Zealand the airport did not take as long as LAX, but they stopped us for the strangest thing! The security people in Auckland did not know what deodorant was, can you believe it! They made me take everything out and explain to them what it was. The beginning of my trip didn't quite start out so well but it slowly got better, how could it not, I was in New Zealand!

The New Zealand Maori's still keep pride in their culture and we were able to meet them and see their traditional clothes and dances.

In our worlds Music class, we learned the traditional dances and when we were able to see them in person it was something that I was able to appreciate more.

New Zealand has the worlds steepest train system in the whole world. We all got to ride it and it was so much fun, scary, but so exciting!

This is the famous three sisters rock. It was a story about three sisters that were in love with these three men but it was forbidden and so the witch doctor made a spell and turned them into rocks as they waited for their love of their lives.
